 Guatemala,
a colourful and hospitable place, is recognised as the cultural centre
of the pre-discovered new world. As the origin of the mysterious Mayan
Civilization and still predominately Indigenous, the country offers
some of the continent's richest folklore. The design of the women's
colourfully embroidered tuics, capes and skirts dates back to precolonial
days. The cultural blend of the Indigenous, Spanish and African people
can be seen in many aspects of the daily life. Ancient rituals are intertwined
with Christianity. Moreover, there is an abundance of high quality,
low-priced handmade goods.
 Antigua
In a country that treasures its colonial past, Antigua is a prize possession.
One of the most beautiful colonial cities of all Latin America, its
charm and relaxed atmosphere attracts students and travellers from all
parts of the world. Antigua is especially beautiful during Semana Santa,
when the streets are carpeted with elaborate decorations of coloured
sawdust and flower petals. The distance to Guatemala City is 45 km.

partner school is perfect located in Antigua and also recognized by
the Ministry of Education. Even though the classrooms are optimal equipped,
sometimes the Spanish lessons are held outside in the garden, in a natural
environment.

language school organizes afternoon activities (2-3 week) at school
and a Antigua orientation tour, which is free of charge.
Furthermore there is a lot to do! The Spanish Institute offers a lot
of one-day trips and also weekend trips. Finally, all students receive
the Discount Card which allows you to pay less in some shops, restaurants,
museums and other businesses in Antigua.

You get a private room at your host family, who provides you with 3
meals daily (except Sunday). All families are screened and selected
carefully by the language school.

You arrive with a scheduled flight at Guatemala City. There you will
be expected by a school representative, who brings you to Antigua. Before
departure we will provide you with important travel information.
